Architectural Program for Elderly Care Home
A humanitarian project creating high-quality elderly care homes that promote dignity, wellbeing, and sustainable community integration.
Background & Problem Statement
The number of neglected elderly people, those living alone, or wandering homeless in the streets is steadily increasing, alongside a severe lack of specialized facilities that combine humane care with social participation. This situation places a growing social burden on working families who are unable to provide full-time care for their elderly members, as well as on families where only elderly individuals remain.
Project Description
The project aims to establish a high-quality and humane elderly care home in each governorate, providing comprehensive health, social, and psychological care within a safe, dignified, and refined environment, similar to a wellness resort. The center will actively engage residents in productive and cultural activities that restore their sense of purpose, dignity, and belonging.
The project adopts a dual model combining non-profit and for-profit components, where the revenue-generating section helps finance the charitable services and ensures long-term sustainability. The facility will include residential rooms, landscaped courtyards and gardens, medical and therapeutic rooms, main halls and lounges, as well as spaces dedicated to social interaction and community engagement.
