Omar Al Zouabi
Responsible for General Administration
Director and founder of the Initiative's Office of Medicine and Psychotherapy, I believe that nation building begins with people. I come from the province of Daraa, the cradle of the Syrian revolution. I studied medicine at the University of Cologne, where I developed a deep interest in mental health as a cornerstone for restoring the well-being of communities and strengthening their capacity for recovery. My career has focused on raising awareness of mental health and highlighting its essential role in social reconstruction. I worked within the Menschen stärken Menschen programme of the German Ministry of Family Affairs and Youth, contributing to initiatives focused on empowerment and psychosocial support. I am also a member of Amnesty International and volunteer for projects such as HealthBuddies Dolmetschen and the Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
